Deleting your account

You can delete your Dzra account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. Here is where the button is and exactly what it removes.

Last updated 13 August 2026. This document is offered in English and is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.

1. Deleting it yourself

In the Dzra app:

  1. Open Account (the last tab, or the avatar at the top right if you are on the seller side).
  2. Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete account.
  3. Enter your password and type DELETE to confirm.

It takes effect immediately. There is no waiting period, no approval step, and nothing to ask us for.

2. What is deleted

  • Your sign-in: your email address, your password and every active session.
  • Your name and phone number.
  • Your saved items, your saved delivery addresses and your notifications.
  • The registration that lets us send notifications to your phone, on every device you were signed in on.

3. What happens to your shop

If you run a shop on Dzra, it closes the moment you delete your account. It comes off its web address and out of the marketplace, and nobody can place a new order with it. This happens straight away and cannot be undone.

If you were a member of staff on somebody else’s shop rather than its owner, deleting your account removes your access and leaves that shop running.

4. What is kept, and why

Orders that have already been placed are kept, with your name and account taken off them. We cannot delete these, and we want to be plain about it rather than let you find out later:

  • An order is a seller’s record of a sale: their books, and what they must keep to account for money they have received.
  • If you bought something, the order is also the buyer’s receipt for money that actually left their account.
  • Orders are reconciled against real payments through our payment provider. Removing one would leave a payment matched to nothing.

After deletion those records no longer name you or link to any account. What remains is the transaction itself.

5. If you cannot reach the app

If you have already uninstalled the app, or you cannot sign in, email support@dzrahq.com from the address on the account. We will verify it is yours and delete it for you, and we will confirm when it is done.

6. Backups

Deleted data is removed from our live systems immediately. Encrypted database backups are kept for a short period for disaster recovery and are overwritten on a rolling basis; nothing is restored from them except to recover from a failure of the whole service.
